CBYX Alumna Interviewed about Accessibility in Germany

The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), or the German Academic Exchange Service, is an independent organization of German higher education institutions and their student bodies, devoted to internationalizing the academic system. As a part of this mission, the DAAD office in New York produces the “Coffee Connections” podcast, where host Hanni Geist chats with students and researchers who come from a variety of backgrounds and have studied in Germany.

Recently, Hanni interviewed Michelle S., CBYX alumna, about her experiences as an American high school CBYX participant in Germany with the 2012-13 cohort. Since returning from Germany, Michelle has completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s studies, served as a Fulbright English Language Teaching Assistant in Taiwan, worked as a teacher of students with visual impairments, and is a disabilities advocate. In the interview, Michelle discusses her experience with the CBYX application and interview process, her experiences learning German and with the culture, accessibility in Germany and more!
